Just had Sky+ installed and have noticed the box makes a serious amount of whirring and whining noises even when its on standby, why is this, is it normal, I just want to find out before I ring them and complain!?
Cheers.

Fan could make some noise. examine container is sitting on a nicely balanced stable flat floor. sparkling the vent outlet close to the fan carefully and blockage often could make sound louder than this is. it could make the noise as the two complicated force and fan is working on an identical time whether it might nit be too louder than spone voice at this methodology or music. If uncertain touch the organization and function checked. Technically any PVR/DVR with complicated disc force can generate noise and in many cases very minimum. in case you're enjoying back some thing and recording yet another programme on an identical time then noise point is probable to be larger as complicated force spins at a maximum of the two 5400rpm or some at 7200rpm now upload that vibration with noise of fan. wish this explains.
