My dog is 3 years old, and he pulls on walks. I've tried all sorts of no-pull devices. He hates them all and finds ways to get around them. Now when I try to get him to go for a walk, he hides from me. No treats or toys will get him to come to me. What can I do? And how old will he be when he stops pulling?
Update:Sheesh! You're all way off! Never mind! He's afraid of the leash! Don't you get it? I found my own way to deal with it.

hire a trainer, read a book or take a class with your dog. you are seriously misusing some training tools if you have caused your dog to not want to walk with you. learn how to use the training tools properly. dogs LOVE to walk with their humans, even when their humans are completely stupid about teaching them how to walk properly on a leash... the good thing is, they are very forgiving and forgetful of our mistakes.
I don't think it's that he doesn't like going on the walks, I think it's that he loves going on walks. He probably has the urge to run, run, run as soon as he gets the leash on because he knows he's going out to explore the world. Maybe you could jog him a bit to release some energy.
Your letting him run how things go on walks then he's going to run other parts of your life to. Just practice with him. Obedience schools are great for teaching a dog to heel
Keep it in the house and then let him go into the yard to go then he well be ready!!
