why is there a black cat out side my house and wont leave?
Since we moved to this new house and month later the black cat came.it came and won't leave!! At night you can hear it meow nonstop and really loud. Its freaky !!
There was a black cat in my backyard that meowed all the time, too. We found where the meowing was coming from, took the cat, and asked the neighbors if they knew anything about it. They didn't, so we kept the kitty (she was a kitten when we found her) and at this time, she is a beautiful, plump cat that still sometimes go to the same where we found her in our backyard. Sometimes we see a mama black cat wander across the yard, we think it may be her mother. So, I would recommend taking the cat, ask the neighbors, and if not, take the cat to a local vet. Our vet checked our black cat out for free. And, if you have the room and money, why not take the kitty in? If you can't, take the cat to a safe animal shelter. I know it sounds confusing and a lot of work, but giving a kitten/cat a safe home is an awesome feeling! And if you can't, don't feel bad, there's lots of other cats/kittens waiting for a good home! Hope this helps! :)
(P.S. My profile picture to the left is a real picture of my black cat we took in. Her name is Midnight.)
First...black cats (or any cats for that matter) ARE NOT POSSESSED! That is a bunch of old wives tale mumbo jumbo! That said...
It's possible that it is a feral/stray being fed by the former owner. It's also possible that the former owners left it behind (I hope not!).
My other thought is that the old owners took the cat with them, the cat got away, and managed to find its way back to its old house (you hear stories about that frequently).
If you are able to, contact the old owners and ask about the cat. If you are unable to do that, check with the neighbors; someone might know something about the cat.
If those things fail, you could try and get the cat. Take it to the nearest vet and check if its microchipped.
If not, you have two choices. If you're interested and able to, you could have kitty checked out by the vet and keep him as your own. If not, you need to do some RESEARCH and take kitty to a truly NO-KILL shelter.
Good luck and keep us posted on your 'mystery kitty'.
Chances are the cat either lived there before and the owners left and didn't take him, or he's a tom cat and the prior owners of the house had an unspayed female which he thinks is still there.
I'd first ask neighbors if they now who owns him. If you can find an owner, then return the cat to them or let them know the cat is bothering you. If no one knows about the cat, then take the cat to a shelter where he can be neutered and placed.
do you have an unspayed female cat in the house?? males cats will travel miles if they catch a scent , and they wont leave until they get the goal or until your cat goes out of season, weve got the same problem with our cat, whenever she is in season we get random cats popping out from everywhere...or maybe the person who lived in that house before you, used to feed the cat ? who knows

The poor cat probably got left behind by the people who once lived there. If you'd like a nice pet, feed it, and it will be quiet.
Maybe its because you have a white cat lol
