My niece is visiting for a week and every time it's time for her to take a nap she goes to sleep with my dad,but the problem is I don't take naps so she won't go to sleep. Help like ASAP TYVM
Do what I do, I go to my room, I close all windows, put my son in the bed with me and lay there acting like I'm sleeping. Within 15 minutes, he's asleep, and I leave the room :)
Dark room, cuddle her in a nest of blankets on the floor, pretend to sleep.
Yes, it's boring, and takes time, but the important thing is that it's boring for the 1 year old, and after about ten-fifteen minutes she should fall asleep and you can sneak out.
The most difficult thing I had to deal with upon becoming a parent was being bored for the sake of the child. It stinks, but as a Mom I got over it and these short term boredoms are easy and second nature now - there are things I think about, plans I make while I'm waiting for the little one to sleep. It's not easy for non-parents.
try laying next to her until she takes a nap. or try this, when i want to put my son down for a nap or for bed i just get him ready and then lay him in his crib turn the light out and walk out of my room and he goes to sleep. it will take her sometime she might even fuss but she will get use to it
Pretend to go to sleep but when you think she is in a deep sleep leave. (And if you get bored that easy turn on the TV and something that you like that she doesn't so she will go to sleep faster). That's what i did with my cousin forever ... (: .
