I work at a bank that is not doing well financially. They have cut staff and we've had many resignations and those positions are not being filled. With the economy flopping, and bank fees rising I'm finding my job increasingly harder to deal with. Customers are broke, they are angry, and I am sick of being yelled at. I work at a bank, but that doesn't mean I get paid well or that I am not in debt either! And I too have to pay the same fees our customers do if I make a mistake or overdraw my account. Why are people so hateful to someone on the other end of the phone?

Everyone is just concerned about themselves, they are not doing it to be mean to you, they just only care what happens to them, and treating you like garbage makes them feel just a little bit better about whatever bad stuff is going on in their lives that is making them unhappy. Just do your job, and be as nice and understanding to them as possible, and hopefully maybe they will get a clue that you are just a person too, and it's not your fault they have to pay fees.
