Would it be safer for a bird (dove) and cat to live together, or a bird and dog to live together?
i suppose it depends on the breed of dog too? what dog would be most likely to behave with a bird? or is the idea of a cat or dog living with a bird really stupid haha?
Dogs are generally pretty good with birds and if they aren't you can tell right away. Cats can be ok with birds but are unpredictable and crafty, they'll leave the birds alone for a couple of weeks but when you aren't looking he's weighing them up. then the birds will mysteriously disapear.
It isn't really safe either way. They could live in the same house as long as there was a solid door between the dog/cat and the dove. I think that if would be safer with a small breed of dog such as a chihuahua or papillon as they don't have as strong an instinct to get to the bird. I used to have a hamster around my papillon and she didn't really care. My other dog, a spring spaniel, always tried to get the the hamster. She even knocked the cage off the counter. Thank god the hamster was okay. Anyways, I wouldn't put either animal alone in a room with a bird together. It's just not a good idea.

Neither. Only when you are watching. I would say cat but neither is safe!
