I am reposting beacuse I posted this kinda late last night and didn't get any answers. I am 24 weeks. Last night I started having a constant pain on the lower part of my uterus that was so bad and lasted so long I called my doctor. He said to go the hospital to get checked. I was hooked up to monitors make sure the baby was OK and I wasn't having contractions. After being there several hours I was diagnosed with a really bad case of round ligament pain that could last for a week or more. Has this happened to anyone else? On the plus side, I was able to hear the baby get the hiccups! :)

Well, last week I tried to move a chair with my leg and the next thing you know I got this horrific sharp pain right across my lower abdomen.
The pain was so intense that I actually started getting period like cramps.
I could barely walk after that and I had hard time getting up.
So the next morning I had to be somewhere and I literally felt like my stomach was being torn open.
I had a previous c section so I freaked out thinking it could be the scar that tore open!
All day that day I noticed I didn't have any BH contractions and the baby barely moved. I ate about two cups of ice cream and the baby didn't respond to the sugar at all which she immediately does. I mean, I can suck on a ice cube and she'll be bouncing all over my insides. This time I didn't even get a squirm.
I called my doctor and he told me to go in. They hooked me up, the baby's heart was fine and she started moving right after.
I felt like an @$$ for going in.
My abdomen still hurts believe it or not and it seems that I've must have torn a muscle there.
The nurse told me I was dehydrated and I should drink a lot of water because babies also get drowsy if we don't drink a lot of water so that's why by baby didn't really move.
Yes it happens to lots of women, my sister ended up in the ER with her first because she didn't know what was going on. I never went into the ER just because I had her experience behind me. I know how painful it can be and for a 1st time mom that does not know all the pains of pregnancy it can be scary. It does go away but when it does make sure not to jump out of bed or do anything to pull it again in my experience it seems to pull easier once it has happened once.
around ligament discomfort occurs in the two facets and likewise the midsection of your decrease abdomen. you're able to observe it alot greater whilst changing positions or perhaps sneezing. Your abdomen has super muscle tissues going up it and there's a small area that separated the two. once you're pregnant, those will start to cut up and circulate to the facets of your abdomen and that's what motives the surprising sharp pains. around ligament discomfort many times in basic terms lasts for a pair of minute earlier easing up. in case you're having consistent sharp pains that come on for no obvious reason, then you definately ought to call your well being practitioner, yet I definitely have faith that what you're having is prevalent.
Oh yes i was about 11 weeks. The pain can get real bad sometimes. But it's best to be on the safe side.
I had this happen with my 1st pregnancy.. It goes away eventually but the pain sucks... they said it was ok to take some panadol for the pain, but I didnt.
