My family and i are going to Hawaii to see my father...and it's urgent. My 3 Kids' passports arent current though...it's still the one from when they were babies. And i wanted to renew it but there's no time. They still havent gotten around to getting a drivers license either. They are all still Highschool students though. Can they use their student ID cards for identification. I know they dont need a passport to go to Hawaii but that's the only "legitimate" source of identification they have at this time.

well if your travling with family with a highschool id your ok well it's just like any other ID its just here to make sure it is really you so your all good don't want someone else taking your ticket right?
When my 10 year old niece went to Disney World with my parents just to be safe and so she would have a form of ID my parents took her to the local driver's license office and got her a state issued ID card. That way it was more official than her student ID; she never needed it but they wanted a form of ID in case she got lost or something like that. It was I think $10 to get the ID card.
The TSA site says "(children are not required to show identification)" and that adults over the age of 18 need to have certain kinds of ID.
Understand that you don't need the ID to travel to Hawaii any more than you need an ID to cross state lines. You just need the ID to get on the plane.
You should be okay with their school ids as long as it has a current picture and their legal name on it.
Another solution would be to get them a state issued ID. You should be able to get it fairly quickly and it's a legal form of ID just as a driver's license is.
Good luck and happy travels!
i know you can definitely renew and get your passport express.it might even come in 1-3 days.just go to Walgreens, take the pictures, and go to your post-office. as simple as that =]
