my status says I am online, to everyone else say's i'm offline?
computer was just dumped reinstalled everything, but now im say's I am online on my end but on my buddy's end he see's me typing but it say's i'm offline and he can't reply

right click on the particular contact, then in the drop down menu, place your mouse on stealth settings, see if it is showing your online to him/her. If not simply click on "Appear online to " (their name). hope it helps
