Hifonics Hfi Series D-Class Mono Amplifier is a great amp just as it states im feeding two 12in Kenwood typhoons at 800watts rms n is has plenty more to offer i have em wired up at 1ohm wow this things kick n the remote comes in handy wen u get pulled over just crank it down ..
I would personally step up to the Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1D. It will produce 1200W RMS at 2 ohms which is slightly above RMS of the speaker. Wired as such in this diagram: http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/le...
You will get nice clean sound. I like to overpower my subs just to keep my amp from overworking. The brutus is a slightly better amp, but it is more expensive. However they consistently get good reviews.
i imagine this is about authentic. the type R's are frequently reported to finish properly with a touch more advantageous than rated skill, and the older HF's are often considered to be fairly over-rated. must be on the fringe of the appropriate skill ratio.

I agree with the Brutus series.
They're generally seen to be more reliable and have better quality than the HiFi Series; for about the same price. A BRZ1700.1 will run it awesome.
