Birth control not helping my skin?
back in june my doctor put me on dasetta 1/35 for my acne. i used it for 3 months and it only made my acne so much worse. i have also tried minocycline and doxycycline for my skin but they both had side effects causing me to not be able to take them anymore. my doctor put me on a new birth control (tri lo marzia) and then an acne medication called cephalexin last month and I know it is early to hope to see results but I have only seen my skin worsen. it may be too early to see improvement but my skin should not be getting worse. I wash my face twice a day and apply medicated topicals from my doctor and take my medications but my skin is only getting worse. what should I do

The blockage of pores by oil or sebum and bacteria infection are two stages of acne development. Minocycline and doxycycline are used to stop bacteria infection. Birth control is used to regulate the level of hormones in body which can trigger the secretion of oil glands. But the activity of oil glands is determined by gentics. What you need is to first bring your skin to a proper pH balance. You can do this by getting an otc medication called bevoline acne treatment. Make sure however that you are not using other acne treatments while using bevoline because it can throw your pH off. Second make sure that the other products you are using (makeup, moisturizer, wash, etc.) is non-comedogenic. If it doesn't mention non-comedogenic on the label then do a suspension test by adding a small amount into a small jar with water, shake it for about 30 seconds, and then let it sit for about five minutes.
