Well it was kinda a fail for france they built good defences around their entire border (anticipating ww1 trench combat again probably) except for the border with belgium for some reason so when germany invaded belgium, they managed to get straight through to Paris quite easily and apprantley they gave up quickly to stop the city being destroyed and so france fell which lead to the battle of dunkirk with a huge evacuation of british troops from france from this started the battle of britain

The German enhance split the two allies and drove them returned, the British in direction of Dunkirk and the French away. The Germans had 2 plans "Yellow" and "crimson". Yellow advance into an attack in the process the Ardennes which advance into released on would 10th in the direction of Sedan, from there Guderian and the XIX panzer branch drove directly to the Channel splitting the French and British armies. The plan advance into for a rapid enhance by employing the infantry to consolidate the income. as quickly as that advance into carried out the "crimson" plan advance into activated this advance right into a flanking circulate around the Maginot Line and into the centre of France.
