I got to go to Las Vegas in 2 weeks for a wedding, one of my buddys is getting married and im the best man. I bought me a new suit for the first time in my life but one thing I dont get is the tie.
Whats the deal with the tie ?
Why does it go with the suit ?
Personaly I think it nothing but a pain in the *** to wear, everything else on the suit makes sense to me to wear but, the tie is like a choker to me.
Somebody please explain to me whats the purpose of the tie ???
Thank you !

A tie is customary and considered necessary to be fully and properly dressed when wearing a suit. Don't tie it so tight! Or get a clip-on! Surely you can wear a tie for your friend for just an hour or two.
Historically, ties came about originally as cloths worn around the neck as bibs. Through the years they became much smaller, and began to be used as symbols of clubs or schools or social groups. Another bit of trivia -- the row of buttons on the cuffs of dress shirts came about to stop men from wiping their noses on their sleeves. One more -- the custom of not buttoning the bottom button of a vest is from King Edward (1902 to 1912, Queen Victoria's heir) who was a portly fellow who ate a lot at supper and undid the bottom button because he was stuffed. When the King undid the button, so did the other men present, and the custom of not buttoning the bottom button has remained.
Get a tie and wear it!
It's an accessory to finish the look and makes a suit dressier. A suit without a tie at a wedding would look like strange and unkempt.
it completes the look and it is used to add color or make a statement of your taste. It means you are well dressed.
