Go for Classy over Flashy. If its Jazz and Ballet, you COULD (but i do not recomend at all) wear same solid color bra top and booty shorts. HOWEVER since there is ballet, i would recomend you wear pink tights, black leotard, have your hair neatly with gel and hairspray of course pulled back into a bun. Come prerared with jazz shoes, demi pointe shoes, and poine shoes if you're on pointe. make sure to arrive at your audition site at least 30 min early to warm up stretch and register. Be aware during your audition of spacing, if your crowding someone that looks very unproffesional. wat a good breakfast that morning, carbs for dinner that night. get lots of sleep, and dont let people sike you out. this willl hurt you. GOOD LUCK!
If it is a formal audition, and you said it is also ballet, I would wear pink tights, a black leotard, and ballet shoes, also bring your jazz shoes to the audition to change when it is time for dance. If you are not sure whether you can wear whatever you want or not, bring a cool t-shirt and shorts or booty shorts, whatever you wear for practice. When you get there you can see what other people are wearing and if it is different than what they are wearing, you can always change.
If it is like the auditions I have been to, sometimes judges count off if you do not have the proper attire. So wearing a leotard, tights, and ballet and jazz shoes to be on the safe side is what I would do. The judges would NOT take off for wearing proper dance attire.
So just do what you think is right for the audition. Most importantly, always do your best and dance your heart off!!!
My friend has been to many auditions for dance(she's 13 and has been dancing since 2 1/2) and I've been to one(I take 2 classes, hopefully 3). She normally wears what she wears to that class(ie leotard, ballet shoes, jazz shoes, etc). You don't have to wear anything fancy, just make sure you're wearing the right shoes.
This is very simple, wear something that makes you feel really good and confident because confidence is important at auditions, it is what most judges look for in the dancers. Also personality and standing out and uniqueness is everything, even if you mess up this is what really counts. Wear something that is comfortable and easy to dance in, just be yourself, do your best and it will just come naturally after that. Remember to have fun because that is what dance is all about. Hope I helped you in some way. Good Luck!
a black leotard with black leggings on top and your dancing shoes, hair scraped back into a bun and zero makeup except maybe a bit of concealer and foundation, to look as plain and simplistic and naturally beautiful as possible. wear the smallest bra you own because they want flat chested people, and wear a thong to conceal a VPL :)
