Because I just don't really see it. Our country may have been great once upon a time, but I just don't see it. A lot of people say if your not making it work harder we're slaves as it is. Think of it part time is less than fourty hours a week. In France they are not allowed to work over 35 hours a week yet a middle class person earns $8,000 a month with what would be the equivelent of one part-time job in the Great U.S.A. They get free medical care. Cuba even gets free medical care. For what we waste to spend on insurance we could have our medical care completely paid for. It's just so sad. The Netherlands have it better than us. Every scandinavian country has it better than us. We may feed the world, but you know if we don't take care of the people in our own country the rest of the world will starve. They are starving as we speak. Because our government has been in bed with big oil and farmers have to pay the price for it. So what is good about our country?

i think even with all the bad in our country there still is good, drive out in the country and you'll see the clear skies with no smog, it's so beautiful, the way not everybody turns a blind eye to a crime and still wants to get involved. our beautiful beaches, driving through historic cities and seeing the pureness of the culture they live, block parties with fireworks in the evening. watching the children play in the parks and splashing in fountains. going to the ocean and watching the dolphins jumping through the waves. i can go on and on. outside of the crime, economy and politics, you still can find good out there.
Free medical care doesn't always mean quality medical care. There is also no choices of which Dr's to see and less freedom in your care. Now don't get me wrong, medical care in the U.S. is not great either, but I'm just not sure universal health care is the answer. I've never been to Europe but I've been to China and Mexico and my husband has been to the Philippines. When you visit third world countries the U.S. is by far the place I want to live. I'd much rather have freedom of speech, religion, and press than most anything else.
We do have freedom, but more than this, we can rise above all this and not be so affected by the 'negative energy that is constantly being dispersed all around us. It is by our choice, alone that we remain and are drawn into this cesspool! And it goes round and round and never stops. It only gets worse with the passage of time. We have declined and are at the crossroads of the point of no return, unfortunately. Our country as well as the world is deteriorating at a very fast rate of speed. But, there 'is' hope for us all, if we just seek to rise above all the chaos. The 'only way' of escape is; by asking the Lord for His help, no, through prayer..
We are free, there's no corrupt leader saying to UN officials you can't drop food here if we were ever in need. There's no mass Genocide, you don't see 30 of us trying to cross the ocean on a truck to "get away" from america. We don't want for food or haven't until of late. We can go to college if we want, we have the welfare system and housin in place that help those who need the help or cant work; they don't just die of starvation in huts. I have the right to wake up everymorning and do whatever I feel like doing. Not everyone can do that. I love America I would not want to live anywhere else. Oh and the whole free care thing, Look at Canada they have free care and they hate it. Everyone sits in a long line for months to get seen even emergencies,,, people have even shown up at vetrinary hospitals trying to get help. If everyone has free care then everyone will be going to the hospital all the time.
There is nothing wrong with our country.
It is infected by a corrupt political system but the political system is NOT the country; it just temporarily infests it and we must cure our country of the infestation.
The people make our country...not a bunch of incompetent fleabag politicos. We need to disinfect Washington DC and get our America back. We can do it with the vote...shall we?
Let's see if Republicans still infest Congress after the next election...if they do, then we do not really want our freedoms back!
It's up to the average American to vote and take the country back!
Gas is still cheaper than it is in Europe (even after the exchange rate)......we have more freeedoms than most other countries (no one can force you to dress, behave, or worship in any certain way)......medical insurance is crazy, yes, but a lot of the National Health systems Europe has are having a lot of problems too....the system is breaking down in certain areas.....taxes are high, but still less than a lot of other countries.....we're allowed to travel where and when we want....
The grass is always greener.......but the grass in our own yard is still pretty green, too.
I kinda agree with you, for the most part. But we get to make the choice of what we want to be in life. The bigger the dream, the harder you have to work. In places like Cuba, there gov. tells them what job they have to do to get paid. Its all supposed to be about "FREEDOM", but these days, it seems like its about money, and high prices. If the US keeps going at this rate, minimum wage will have to be like $15 per hour. I've always heard the phrase, If you don't like it, leave. That's one of the privileges we have as US citizens.
1. America is the most diversifed country in the world
2. You can reach your goals without opressions
3. The f-ing history of the country and the sacrifices for yours/ and mine's freedom.
4. And we're not afraid to drop the bomb. ( hey I just saying what if we didn't?)
I am not saying we dont have problems in the US but dam this is the greatest country on the planet.
The only problem our country has is it's government and you can't really give them all the blame. People actually VOTED these people in to office, so it is every ones problem. I hope in my life time never to see another group of oilmen running our country. Other than that America is my home, and I am D@M proud of her.
The value of the dollar is worthless.
We pay an average of $12000 a year for a family of fours health insurance.
The middle class in this country is almost nonexistent.
Oh what you wanted some good things well I can't think of any maybe walmart?
