check behind stereo, look at the RED wire coming from behind it. If the fuse attached to it is blown, replace it. if its not blown check your cars "RADIO" fuse usually located under the driver dash or under hood. if its blown then replace it
automotive sound system components will in a lot of cases have an extra power input that will provide a small amount of current to remember all your settings, volume etc, this is very small current and providing your battery is in good condition will not cause any trouble with flat batteries
If a separate red wire came with your head unit u have to hook it in to ur ignitions it basically a on off wire that sends a on and off signal to the head unit
