u should go where that there is no light pollution or air pollution.Light pollution is generated by light reflected from city lights(Street lamps) to dusts and air pollution in atmosphere and this phenomenon causes that u cant watch stars well.In big cities usually there is high light pollution or air pollution so u cant see any meteor. But if u go out of such cities.... this is the reason for this saying that " if u want watch stars go to desert" . (in desert usually there is no air or light pollution).but u can see some meteors in small cities whit little air or light pollution.less pollution ,more meteors to watch. in addition to these, it is better to shut down lamps during watching. Because light can decrees your eyes sensibility for better watch.
