Right now I just do sit ups, push ups, and some dumb bell lifting. However, I want to become more effective. But I am also broke, so the gym is out. Can anyone suggest some good sites out there that give me a basic at home routine to work with? I just want to increase my muscle mass/lose weight/get tone.

Keep up what you are doing. Add in several sets of chrunches. Do pull ups to a tree limb or secure a bar in a good sturdy door. Those will go a long way towards buinding your upper body.
