I like Nathan's hot dogs or Ball Park all beef franks. We also like Jennie_O Turkey hot dogs for those who don't eat beef. They aren't greasy or over spiced.
Avoid the cheap brands like Bar S. They really are not a bargain.
I like the thin beef ones that fit into a bun with none of it sticking out of the bun. After they are cooked on the grill, they all taste alike to me. Get vegetarian ones if you do not want pink slime.
You would do better to look for sausages. Here we have a great brand called Opa's. They are expensive but so worth the $. Read the labels is the best I can tell you. Hot dogs, bologna and spam are at the bottom of the list of meat.
I recommend all beef natural casing hot dogs. I normally buy either 5 Star or Brookside in 2 or 3 pound bags. I freeze the extras and then thaw them when I want them.

Kosher hot dogs are all beef, no by-products, and are manufactured in very sanitary conditions. I use Hebrew National. They're delicious.
In cooking out weather, the supermarket may be out of kosher dogs. Nathan's Hot Dogs aren't kosher, but they're the next best thing,
