internet goes on and off?

im using verizon DSL

and for the last day or two the internet would act really weird and it is ticking me off. The internet stops working every few minutes and then it would go back on on its own.

any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

I have restarted the modem few times now and still has the problem

if you have an internet box, try and reset that and let it set for a few momments, maybe your box is having some trouble so it makes the internet flick off and on. I dont think it would be your computer thats causing the problem, maybe call Verizon to see whats up, maybe there having some problems with there network, my phone has been having no service in a full bar area and has been flicking on and off as well, so just reset your box (if you have one) and your best bet would be to call and see whats up. It could be possible that your internet box is dying, (my internet cut off when my box died)

I am using a buffalo router with virgin and I had same problem and someone suggested checking my wires in case they had been caught anywhere. Sure enough I had moved a desk out for something and had caught the wires when I pushed desk back in. Don't know if this is any help to you it might be worth a try. Good luck .

can you give me one answer whether you are having static ip or dynamic.

Most likely you are confiured your ip into static whereas it should be dynamic. As dynamic ip chanes every 10 mins or so you will find internet connection is cuttin off just do it other way around.
