I want to go to Niagara Falls from Vermont during spring break next year. and I know that you need a passport to go across the US Canada border. I came to the US in 2002 and i was 9 my parents were issued passports and me and my brother were on those passports. So my question is now that Im 18 and hes 22 can those passports still get us across the border by our selves or would our parents need to be with us since technically they are their passports. So would me and my brother be able to get past the border with those passports. We do not have passports individually because we are not US citizens because our parents didn't that the citizenship test, and neither did we after turning 18. So would we have to get our own passports or can we use those.

Your Green Card is enough to get you back and forth across the border.
Your parents passports are no longer valid for you . You need your own. You are a citizen of somewhere get a passport from that country or start the process to get U.S. citizenship and passport. Time to take the test. Check for current information with both Canada Border Services and U.S. Customs and Immigration.
we are assuming you are Canadian but even if you were children 9 years ago, you are not now...you are adults now.
You are in some murky water though if you are not a US citizen and did not take a citizen test when you had the opportunity. Do you have a green card? Are your parents passports still valid?
Anyway you would have 2 problems...Canadian border customs and USA border customs. Without a valid passport and being adults now, given the paranoia that exists in the USA, I would say you are playing with fire even crossing with a Green card. You may get into Canada but returning to the USA may be a problem.
If your parents are not Canadian...I would not even think about doing what you are planning.
If the passport has your name, photo and birthdate and is still valid, then you can use it.
It's probably expired though, because last I checked child passports were only valid for 5 years.
Since you are both adults you would not be able to travel on your parent's passports. You would need to get your own or use your Green Cards.
