Yes - We started it about a year ago with our two kids (then ages 4 and 2) and saw near immediate results. We were telling our friends about it and felt like we finally got some control back in our house. But then I think our skills got dull and we started migrating away from applying the "technique" exactly as your supposed to (BIG rule - no talking / no emotion). The more we got away from the details of the technique, the less effective it was. I just ordered the DVDs on-line a few weeks ago and they arrived literally in a couple days. (I thought that would be a good refresher rather than reading the whole book again.) Anyway, it did prove to be a good refresher, and my husband and I both immediately identified some of the things we had been doing "wrong" according to the 1-2-3 method. We've both gotten much better the last 2-3 weeks, and we're already seeing results in the kids. I will say, I find it very difficult to "stick to" sometimes. At home it's easy - the kids gets a time out if they get to 3. But I find it challenging to know what to do when we're in public - like on a school field trip (where I'm responsible for another child too) and I can't just take my child away from the group -- or in a doctor's office (never fails, they get to 3 right before the doctor walks in, so now how do you administer a time out / rest period?). I think the main thing is to think of these situations ahead of time and figure out what you're going to do.
