It goes black after awhile of being inactive. I know this is normal, but for some reason the past few monitors I've had, I have had quite a difficulty trying to get them to work again. I can sit there for up to five minutes moving my mouse and trying to get my screen back on, and it still doesn't do anything.
This is what I have done:
Control Panel > Personalization > Screen Saver
Wait 9999 minutes. On resume, display login screen. Checked.
Control Panel > Power Options
Change Plan Settings(all of them are set the same). Both set to Never.
Why does it keep doing this? I don't want my screen to turn off because it takes me so long to get the monitor to wake up again..
Update:Operating system is windows 7.

Make, model, OS?
Under the settings for Power Settings where you set how long until your computer sleeps after a period of inactivity, in that area you can change the length of time your computer can remain inactive before it sleeps and/or before the monitor turns off. The range is something like a few minutes up to hours or not at all. It can be accessed through the Control Panel, power settings and perhaps there are other short cuts to those setings. Depends on the model, etc of your computer's operating system.
once you go black you never go back.
