How do a 16 year old and a 13 year old go about renting a car?
okay so i thank you so much if you clicked on this question....my cousin is supposed to be coming in to town this summer. Im 13, (ill be 14 when she gets here) and shes 15 (shell be 16 when she gets here) so she'll have her drivers license. so since itll be the summer we do not want to sit at home all day but we have no way of transportation. i was thinking about renting a car, but i dont know if you can at our age, and even if we could save up the money, gas and insurance are expensive. so if theres any possible way you could think of getting us a car for a week...lemme know. please. thanks.(:

cant, you will have to ask your dad to rent it for you, and it will be under his name, if you involve in an accident you will be in a big trouble
Licensing laws vary from state to state. If your cousin lives in a different state, make sure they know your states laws. Many states now have adopted a "graduated" type of licensing. For example, in Colorado, if you're under 18, you cannot have any passengers in the car under the age of 21, no exceptions. So find out what the law is first, but as someone else said, no rental company would rent to you, as they all won't rent to anyone under 25 for insurance purposes.
Most rental car companies will not even consider renting to someone unless they are 25 years old or older. If you want to get out of the house, I would suggest a bicycle built for 2, 2 bicycles, or a very cheap car for your cousin to drive.
At 16 she will have a limited drivers license IF she passes her test. She will legally not be allowed to drive unless someone 21 or over is in the car with her. Until she takes the road test, when she's 16.5 and passes will she then be able to drive alone or with 2 other people only.
You have to be 18 (or 21 in some places) to rent a car.
Call a cab or get a bicycle.
