yea if i eat 350 calories in one day (not really) and then got on the tredmil the same day and burned 350 calories will i lose weight if i do that every day? :D i'm not really just goin to eat 350cal. a day so dont say anything like thats not healthy cuz i'm just wonderin :P

If you're not going to eat just 350/day, then why that number?
To lose weight, you need to burn off more than you consume. But not eating well or enough will hinder healthy weight loss.
If it were, I'd be very thin. Think about that calorie counter on the gym treadmill. How long does it take to reach 350 burned? Then think of how much you are sweating by that time. Celery is not going to do that for you. Your nephew is an engineer, not a college-trained nutritionist, right?

What will happen is your body will shut down its metabolism. So it will hang on to every ounce of fat it has, and use it ver slowly so it doesnt starve.
