My family is from Nigeria and we live in California, but we still visit Nigeria every summer. Last year I got a dog in Nigeria and I've been trying to convince my parents to ship him to America. My dad is staying with him in Nigeria for a long term business trip. There aren't many good opportunities in Nigeria because dogs aren't well cared for and the technology in Nigeria is outdated. My dad says he will ship my dog out if my mom says yes and my mom says we don't have any space. My dog is about 20 pounds and my uncle sent me $300 but my mom hid the money from me because she knows I'll spend it on pet supplies. I try to show my mom that I'm responsible but she blows me off. How can I convince her to bring my dog here?

It will cost you over $2000 to ship your dog internationally, not to mention all the certificiates, vaccination records, etc you must have
A friend just moved from London to NY and $2300 was the cheapest she found to ship her dog after calling 5 different pet shipping companies
You have to make certain that your dog passes through Customs.
For dogs, the animal needs to be certified to be free of disease. In addition, the dog needs to have a certificate in English certifying that it has been vaccinated for rabies at least 30 days prior to entering the United States. You need to first demonstrate to your mother your responsibility by educating yourself on the U.S. Customs requirements then adhering to them. Please review the link below. I wish you the best of luck in bringing your canine friend to the U.S.
