Does anyone feel like the clock is winding down for our time on Earth?
I would rather feel optimistic about the future, but it is hard to ignore so many horrible things that we have absolutely no control over. How do you stay optimistic in these uncertain times?
Sometimes I feel strongly that we are in the "end times" as the Bible calls them. Like you, I see terrible things and think "how much longer can this go on?" But, then I realize that God is truly patient and has his reasons for not wrapping things up on the earth. My relationship with Jesus Christ my Savior is what keeps me optimistic - before I met him and surrendered my life to him I was bitterly pessimistic and negative - just plain toxic! There are days I just hate what I see or hear in the world around me - like the cult in Texas where babies are giving birth to babies! If I couldn't pray and ask God for help I would just lose all hope. I'm probably a lot older than you and I can still remember when things SHOCKED US!!!!! so much more than they do now. I remember the first time someone started shooting innocent people in public - it was staggeringly appalling and awful. Now its still horrible, but it is becoming familiar and that is hideous. If God was not being patient to give more people time to know Him and accept his Salvation - it would be over
Not to just ramble, but one last thought. I concentrate on what I can do and not on what I can't do. I force myself to not give in to the horror and the evil. In the midst of all the bad stuff there are thousands of individuals who still do good things and who help others and act unselfishly. I choose to remember them and not let the bad guys obsess my mind - even though I do stumble and do that sometimes. Jesus Christ is Lord of all and someday this world is going to become His and His love will rule.
The Moon is NOT being pulled extra away through the Sun's gravity. Think approximately it: the Moon and the Earth are at approximately the identical distance from the Sun, with tiny per 30 days variants. The Sun IS pulling the Moon, however it is also pulling the Earth with very virtually the identical drive in keeping with kilogram. That signifies that the centripetal acceleration of the Moon is the identical because the centripetal acceleration of the Earth, and one is not relocating towards the Sun quicker than the opposite. Besides, if that have been the rationale, you might assume to look the Moon's orbit fitting extra elongated towards the Sun. But the Earth-Moon distance is developing all over the Moon's orbit, so there have got to be one other aspect at paintings. The Moon motives a tidal bulge in Earth's oceans, that means that water going through towards and clear of the Moon is stretched out a little. The outcome is not so much, in comparison to the diameter of the Earth, however it is truly. If the Earth weren't rotating, the tidal bulge might line up flawlessly with the Earth-Moon line. However, the Earth IS rotating, and it sweeps the tidal bulge ahead a tiny bit. Because the mass of the tidal bulge is "forward" of the Moon, it motives the Moon to speed up in its orbit. A larger orbital pace method a bigger orbit, and so each century the Moon actions a bit bit extra out because of tide-brought about acceleration. Of direction, kinetic vigour can not simply be created like that. As the Moon earnings kinetic vigour, it robs it from the Earth. Due to the Earth's tidal interplay with the Moon, the Earth's day could also be slowly getting longer. We would possibly not see any noticible difference in our lifetimes, however in a couple of million years we're going to have got to invent new clocks if we are nonetheless round as a species.
With the 'pace of life' so accelerated as it is in these times, many people are feeling that way...but we have a choice every single day... when you awaken each morning you can be thankful for Life or be glum...faith, hope and a positive attitude can be a saving grace.
So if you really would rather feel optimistic, then make THAT choice for yourself! As for horrible things happening...horrible things have been happening since time began - you can't really ignore them, but don't DWELL on them.
Do what you can to help others first, then yourself... if you put the needs of those you love ahead of your own you'll be surprised to find your own needs are fulfilled.
The clock is definitely winding down on our time left for this "Earth Age" (the age of the flesh). How do you stay optimistic in these uncertain times? Read the Bible with understanding. Because when you do so it's like reading tomorrows newspaper. One of mankinds greatest fears is the fear of the unknown. One of a Christians greatest comforts is knowing what the future has in store for us.God's word reassures us of His promises, and lets us know how God's plan for the ages is going to unfold. Have you read it?When you read it with understanding it gives you that peace of mind in knowing what lies ahead.A word to the wise is sufficient.
As an so-called 'optimistic' person, do you expect that you would stay in this world forever? SO? Being optimistic, doesn't mean that this world would remain same for EVER! Of course some day the Sun will die; this simple world would be lost; a new world would rise.......please, be optimistic.
yeah i definetely feel the same. i mean how can things get any worse, it seems the end of the world and the rapture will come soon where god comes back to earth. cause look at how bad and shallow everythings is. so much disrespect and cussing and killing and perversion. especially in the media. it is pretty sad. sometimes i wish i grew up when things where more innocent, ya know? :]
Millions of people have felt like that and, truth be told, there are times when I do. But, realistically, someday I will meet God, whether or not the world has come to an end by then. :)
people always think the time they're living in is the worst/most amazing/ most progressive time yet... it's just because we're in the here and now and we're aware of all the scary things going on that it feels overwhelming.
I think some people have probably always felt this way.
