I have been wanting to build a black powder cannon for a while now, but I would like some help so I know I'm doing this safely. I am planning on the barrel having a 2" inside diameter and being able to fire pretty much anything that fits down the barrel. Any suggestions on what type of metal to use and how to make it absorb the shock from the black powder? I don't want to end up making a giant pipe bomb.
