I am in the market for a gaming video card.
System
Intel Core i5 3.4hz
4 gig memory - will be adding +4 gig soon total of 8 gig (if that matters)
550 watt PSU - Will likely upgrade this to 650 watts
I like to run my graphics at low to mid level, caring really only about my character (high textures) and a little higher than "low" texture for "greenery" trees, grass, bushes etc.
I dislike the bloom effects, glowing, shadows, water sparkle and any other unnecessary effects for my taste.
I was looking at the:
EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 FTW w/ ACX Cooling Video Card
type cards for their power consumption is slightly less than the Radeon's (XFX Radeon R9-270, 265, 280 etc).
But I am thinking that really for my needs that these cards are a bit much?
Would you please make some suggestions pointing me in the right direction?
Thank you and Happy New Years!

The 750 ti does not even need a PCI-E 6 pin to run it it runs off the PCI-E slot power its only draws 65w if my memory serves me right this is a great card for the price from what i read. But you can get a AMD 7970 for around $100 on ebay right now get some mega performance for the same price.
Yeah750ti is a great card, it will handle the games well, and 2gb vram is a great because pc games now eats more vram.and you dont need to upgrade your psu in that card bacause 750 is very efficient card
