It is impossible to predict exactly what energy level a mixed breed dog is going to have.
Anything mixed with Border Collie however is quite liable to end up with boundless energy, simply because that aspect is so strong in the breed. On top of that, another "risk factor" with the Border Collie breed is the intelligence. Know that intelligence does NOT equal trainability. An understimulated Border Collie (or mix) is bound to end up destructive and neurotic.
What exactly is it about the Border Collie breed that you want in your dog? There is quite likely another breed with those attributes that does not have quite as much energy.
Edit:
Going to the shelter or a rescue may be the better option for you as an older, established dog - mixed or not - will have a known exercise requirement.
There are about a hundred dog breeds that would produce a mix with less energy. Best? That all depends on your lifestyle and what you're looking for in a dog. I'm partial to lab/herding mixes, which tend to be more calm, but these would probably be a little bigger than you're looking for. Instead of deciding what you want then looking for it, why don't you contact your closest BC rescue and see what mixes are actually available?
you never know exactly how they will turn out so its best not to breed unless you have twelve of sixteen people lined up already wanting a mixbreed whos personality is going to be unknown.. ive fostered a collie mixed with pit he was high energy and spent every seconed trying to herd any and everything he ended up with agression problems because no one would get in the circle.

you have no standards or way to know what a mix will do till grown
with the collie in mix you will always need to exercise a lot
The Borador is not as hyper as the Border Collie. Bordoodles are active, but still more laid back than the Border Collie or even the Borador.
