It got shot down by a slim margin last time now they are rewriting the bill to add a bunch earmarks and god knows what else and they want the american public to flip the bill for it. They are trying to squeeze blood from turn ups don't they know when people are getting laid off left and right and most of them only work at minimum wage jobs you can't push it when gas is so high. What are they trying to do to the american people? Where have our rights gone?

We have rights??
Could have fooled me.
Yes their going to do the bail out. You heard about the Golden Parachutes the higher ups got from these banks... Lets just say the lowest payout was 31 million.
Stupid schmucks.
Actually the revisions made to the Senate bill place limits on executive compensation. They got rid of the language giving Paulsen unchecked authority over the money. They also raised FDIC credit protection limits and broke up the 700 billion into installments designed to see if the process works. I think it's something like 100 billion to start with another installment of 350 billion, subject to Congressional approval only after reviewing the effects of the initial outlay.
I don't pretend to know if it will work or if it could even turn a profit (as is theoretically claimed), but I do think it's a much better bill and there is definitely a need to do something to increase liquidity and get banks to lighten up with extending credit. I think anyone who flat out opposes some kind of market assist here is either a grandstanding politician up for re-election or just plain ignorant. It affects everyone, whether they're rich or poor.
Today the revised bill passed the Senate. Now it goes to the House again and we'll see what happens.
Blood from turnips, not turn ups.
It'll pass. Government members realize that if Wall Street collapses, the effects will hurt everyone eventually.
dr. dunn and John R: It passed in the Senate, but not the House, yet.
It will pass. It should because if we don't no one knows when the market will come back up. with the bailout it will help it come back quicker and protect a larger amount of your money in the banks if your bank goes under
I hope it passes no one realizes what this country would do without the Stock Market because their to busy being moronically idealistic!!
They shall all taste oblivion!! Which tastes like Red Bull, which is disgusting!!
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
It passed today, so look forward to more taxes to help pay for it, on top of putting your money into 'loser companies' in order to 'save' money for your future.
To me, it's just round 2
It will pass with flying colors.
ya i heard they're trying to pass that again.
it's ridiculous. our country is going to hell in a hand basket
