Well I don't read many mystery books but here are my favourites
Harry Potter (7) - JK Rowling
Looking for Alibrandi - Melina Marchetta
On The Jelicoe Road - Melina Marchetta
Number 8 - Anna Feinberg
The Secret Dreamworld Of A Shopaholic(series) - Sophie Kinsella
The Tomorrow Series (7) - John Marsden
The Ellie Chronicles (3) - John Marsden (read after the tomorrow series)
The Hobbit - JR Tolkein
Lord Of The Rings(3) - JR Tolkein
Any Books by Jodie Picoult although they are mostly more adult issues.
Walk In My Shoes - Alwyn Evans
Feeling Sorry For Celia - Jaclyn Moriarty
Finding Cassie Crazy - Jaclyn Moriarty
The Daisy Chain Series(4) - Joan O'Neill
There is also this series of books that i was reading ages and ages ago but i can't remember their name. It was about these two girls, and both their parents die or something but then their stepmother inherits everyhting so they sneak away and gtet fake identitys but then when they try to keep a low profile something pops up (mystery) and they're always the witnesses or they have to help solve it. They were actually really good. I'll keep you posted if i remember them.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes Mysteries):
The Hound of the Baskervilles
A Study in Scarlet
The Sign of Four
The Valley of Fear
The Last Bow
Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes
Classic Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (The Red Headed League, A Case of Identity, The Boscombe Valley Mystery, The Beryl Coronet, The Copper Beeches, A Scandal in Bohemia, and The Speckled Band.)
The Return of Sherlock Holmes (The Empty House, The Norwood Builder, The Dancing Men, The Solitary Cyclist, The Priory School, Black Peter, Charles Augustus Milverton, The Six Napoleons, The Three Students, The Golden Pince-Nez, The Missing Three-Quarter, The Abbey Grange, and The Second Stain.)
The Final Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (The Truth About Sherlock Holmes, The Mystery of Uncle Jeremy's Household, The Story of the Man With the Watcher, The Story of the Lost Special, The Adventure of the Tall Man, The Painful Predicament of Sherlock Holmes, The Case of the Man Who Was Wanted, Some Personalia about Sherlock Holmes, The Case of the Inferior Sleuth, The Crown Diamond, and How Watson Learned the Trick.)
Agatha Christie (1890 - 1976):
And Then There Were None
Crooked House
Ordeal by Innocence
The Man in the Brown Suit
Miss Marple Series - The Murder at the Vicarage, The Thirteen Problems, The Body in the Library, The Moving Finger, A Murder is Announced, They Do It with Mirrors, A Pocket Full of Rye, 4.50 from Paddington, The Mirror Crack'd, A Caribbean Mystery, At Bertram's Hotel, Nemesis, and Sleeping Murder.
Hercule Poirot Series - The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Murder on the Orient Express, The ABC Murders, Death on the Nile, Evil Under the Sun, Five Little Pigs, The Hollow, Mrs. McGinty's Dead, and The Mysterious Affair at Styles.
I would definitely suggest the Sweep Series, in all there are 15 Books but each book is only about 200 pages, this is a great series if you are into the whole Wicca and Witches deal.
For a young adult/teen Meg Cabot's young adult books. She is the best author. Also best selling. She wrote tons of books including the Princess Diaries (Movies based on her books), Mediator (upcoming movie), 1-800-Missing (TV show based on her books), Jinx, Airhead and more. She has adult books too, so you can grow with her.
If you want more info or any of the authors website's email me.
id recommend jodi picoult, and out of her books definitely 'the pact.' if you want a mystery teen book READ THIS ONE. or the tenth circle. she has great mysteries/court dramas with amazing love stories in them.
I would suggest any series of Tamora Pierce. Her main cartures are female, he storries are based in a more magical middle age aura, like with knights and wizards.

umm... The Broken Window: A Lincoln Rhyme Novel -by:Jeffery Deaver

It's not a mystery and it's not exactly a teen book. Read Young Men and Fire by Norman Maclean. A wonderful story. You can get it at the library.

Is like the only teen book Twilight? She's not even asking for romance/fantasy yet there's Twilight answers. o.o
