When God talks to me there are never any quotes from the man made book called the bible. There is a sweet sense of Divinity, love and gentle guidance and not a hint of judgment or wrath (that the bible has)
Not always. It depends on the circumstance. I've had Him speak directly to my mind and spirit in an inaudible voice. It was in direct response to my concerns and prayers. I asked Him once while on my way to work, whether or not a preacher I was listening to on the radio was a Christian or not. God told me to look at my speedometer, as I did, the odometer rolled over to 666. My prayer was answered and I stopped listening to that preacher. Another instance I was in a new church but I had some misgivings about the whole situation. I had been going to that church for about a month. One day after the sermon was over, I walked to the front and knelt down by the stage to pray. The pastor knelt next to me and "supposedly" began speaking in tongues. Suddenly, without warning, God asked me-----"What are you doing here"?
I simply answered---" I don't know". God got my attention. I left that day and never went back to that church. Just a few weeks later, the pastor of that church quit, the congregation broke up and the church shut down. To this day, I still don't know why it shut it's doors but all I know is that God wanted me out of there and He let me know in no uncertain terms. So yes, God does speak to me and no, not quoting Scripture.
Um I can say yes or no to that, ive never had God quote the bible for me. Its always been a small voice of guidence for me you might say. Like "dont listen to that music", "dont watch that movie", maybe you should go witness to the person". That is how God has always spoken to me!
Awesome question! He does both, and more. And they arent nothings, they are awesome. Ok small story of how God talks to me, I couldnt find my glasses one day, i looked looked and looked. till finally i realized, DUH God can help me, so i asked him to help me, and he said to me, go over there to that dresser, and upon the bottom draw, and sure enough there it was. Praise him for that. The holy spirit does remind me of scripture a lot as well. Jesus promised this when he said that he would give us the spirit, with whom we will remember all things that he has spoken to us. God is so good, and he is so personal, he even cares that i lost my glasses, and wants to help. He is a personal God that wants to know his children closley. He has provided a way for this through his son Jesus. We were all sinners, and still are, but Jesus took our place of Judgment, and took away our sin. Now those who believe in him can have eternal life with him. He is just amazing!
Sometimes he brings a verse to my mind.Other times I feel led to speak to/pray for someone, etc.Its just in the spirit. You feel led by God that way. Some call it a still, small voice. If you think about it.Will the devil direct you to God's Word? Tell you to pray for somebody? Of course not! That's how you know it's God. What he "says" depends on the need of you or others.God Bless!
When God talks to me, I usually hear things that I KNOW I would never hear on my own. For example: While I was praying the other night, I heard that I should pray for terrorists (obviously the first thing I thought of was how important it is for me to pray for Barack Hussein Obama) But all kidding aside, I actually did end up praying for terrorists. Most terrorists are born to kill. That's all they know. They have rifles in their hands at 5 years old learning how to kill and destroy. Some know early on that they are going to strap a bomb to themselves (or overtake an airplane that crashes into the twin towers) at a very early age....these people need prayer. They need prayer that they will somehow come across someone in their lives that will teach them the truth. Teach them what love is. Teach them that there is more to life than killing others and themselves. So I prayed for them. On my own, I NEVER would have even considered praying for a terrorist. That was god talking.
God speaks in silence tone deep into a mans heart and soul and fills it with peace and strength. His silence speaks grreater than the wisest words, his love gives greater comfort than a thousandfold pledges of adoration, when God speaks.
if god was quoting the scriptures, i would be rotfl. xians are funny, when they remember a scripture they read once, they say its god, and when they have common premonition or use common sense, they say its god,but then, i guess its all their game.

He does not quote the Bible, but He always imparts wisdom and tells me He loves me.
