it happens around 6-10 days after ovulation/conception....usually around day 7 or 8. then you can take a pregnancy test about a week after implantation....so thats about 14 days from ovulation, which is about the time of your expected period.
and yes, gas is definitely a symptom of pregnancy and can be very uncomfortable.
