He died at 16, and he really loved country music. He hated pop-country and was really into the older music and "Texas Country". I was going to play Silver Wings by Merle Haggard as one of the songs. Do you have any ideas

Collin Raye - If You Get There Before I Do Lyrics
This song is amazingly touching. I am inlove with it.
Heres the lyrics:
I read a note my grandma wrote back in 1923
Grandpa kept it in his coat and he showed it once to me
He said boy you might not understand
But a long, long time ago
Grandma's daddy didn't like me none
But I love your grandma so
We had this crazy plan to meet
And run away together
Get married in the first town we came to and live forever
But nailed to the tree where we were supposed to meet instead
I found this letter
And this is what it said
If you get there before I do
Don't give up on me
I'll meet you when my chores are through
I don't know how long I'll be
But I'm not gonna let you down
Darling wait and see
And between now and then ‘til I see you again
I'll be loving you, love me
I read those words just hours before my grandma past away
In the door way of a church
Where me and grandpa stopped to pray
I know I'd never seen him cry in all my 15 years
But as he said these words to her
His eyes filled up with tears
If you get there before I do
Don't give up on me
I'll meet you when my chores are through
I don't know how long I'll be
But I'm not gonna let you down
Darling wait and see
And between now and then ‘til I see you again
I'll be loving you, love me
Between now and then ‘til I see you again
I'll be loving you, love me
First off, I'm very sorry for your loss. Silver Wings is a good choice. Do you know Vince Gill's Go Rest High (On That Mountain)? We picked this one to play at my brother-in-laws funeral a few years ago.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Barbed wire halo by Aaron Watson would be a a great song, but it is written more for an older man so it might not be exactly what you're looking for.
Listen to: When I Get Where I'm Going by Brad Paisley. It is a great song that would be perfect for it.
sorry for your loss i have a good song in mind its not country but christian but give it a listen, my grandpa died 6 days ago and we played I Will Rise by Chris Tomlin and everybody in the room was crying
The lengthy And Winding street- The Beatles or an afternoon interior the life - The Beatles or i'm really napping - The Beatles BQ1: I call Your call, hi Bulldog, the interior mild, you realize My call (seem up The kind), throughout The Beatles
I'm sorry for your loss. A favorite song of mine is "Uncloudy Day" by Willie Nelson. This verse especially:
O they tell me that He smiles on His children there,
And His smile drives their sorrows all away;
And they tell me that no tears ever come again
In that lovely land of uncloudy day.
The Dance--Garth Brooks
