I am a guitarist and looking into Julliard for a college. Can anyone tell me with an in-depth perspective of a Julliard music audition is like? Please create a clearer description than the website, thanks. (:

I don't know if you saw this on their website, but they have an extremely in-depth perspective on the site in their admissions blog.
Looking ahead, be cool. I know they pre-screen auditions, so play your piece on the tape as many times as you need, that's the good thing.
WHEN (not if) they ask you for an audition, have your piece prepared a couple weeks before hand. Don't be insecure. Know that they will take you. If you've done your job right, this shouldn't be a problem.
On the other hand, I also know that they only accept around 3 classical guitarists a year. Make sure you know your ****. Everything about your instrument and technique. Have your nails trimmed to the proper length and whatnot.
All in all, have fun and BE COOL. Don't think of your auditioners as people that are rating you. Think of them as instructors, and take any advice they give you.
I hope this helps, and good luck!
If THOSE are your idea of music pieces to go to the FIRST audition for Julliard.. the YOU ARE IN WAY OVER YOUR HEAD.. I was playing that stuff when I was 8 years old.. WHY don't you people ever READ THE ARCHIVES on this question, which gets asked a hundred times or more EACH WEEK? If you did, then you would learn that it's harder to get into Julliard than to get into HARVARD and that you will need to be in the TOP 2 PERCENT of the people in your category. For Piano, this means you will need to have already won (at your age Group) at least ONE MAJOR COMPETITION. Just don't embarrass yourself.. you aren't even CLOSE to being able to audition for Julliard.. or get thought the FIRST audition, if you do.
First of all, it's spelled Juilliard. Second, to me, it was like any other old audition, except I was auditioning for a scholarship, but I got it.
Remember, Juilliard only has a 7% acceptance rate, so you have to be really good.
