Smoking can decrease a man's sperm count, but honestly; it won't prevent a man from being able to reproduce. I mean seriously, look @ how many male smokers are fathers. Hell, I even know a heroin addict who lives off the stuff and he has 2 children...by someone who is also a heroin addict. And of course there is a chance you'll become pregnant. Pregnancy can happen whenever you have sex and having closer to your ovulation date only increases those odds. Every month, a woman has a 20% chance of becoming pregnant. smoking will def effect your chances of getting pregnant, smoking can make sperm sluggish same as alcohol and unhealthy eating. I would recommend he stops and takes a mens conception multi vitamin. Also to have the healthiest sperm you should be having sex every couple of days through out the month not just at ovulation. sperm not used for a few days will also be sluggish and the chances of falling pregnant will be lowered.

If you do everything right you still only have a 30- 50% chance of falling pregnant.
