I am a very inquisitive individual who has passion for debate and argument. My Favorite show in the entire world is Boston Legal. My idol is John Spader (Alan- the star). My question is do you think entertainment that pertains to law displays false images of what is actually constructed in the courtroom, ultimately allowing me disappointed when I become a lawyer. Is civil law constructed like the scenes on Boston Legal at all?
Thank you for all of your comments!

u can't serious, u are basing what lawyers do off a T.V. show, 30 min or an hour. atty spend a lot of time getting a case together doing boaring and tedious work but fun to them because they love the law. i say that because t.v. wants 2 get your attention.
do this, go to a court and sit in a trial, spend time talking with various types of lawyer, reality check.
Boston legal is absolutely off base when it comes to the average day in the life of a lawyer. I can not tell you how many procedural things I have witnessed on the show which are simply not reflections of reality.
That said, you still may like being a lawyer. You just need to see if the reality is something that you could also like. Try to sit in on some cases. I absolutely love being a lawyer.
Boston Legal isn't even remotely realistic. Go to court some day and sit in on a case.
i completely agree with James, if u sit in on a real case, and u see what really goes on in a courtroom, u will see that what u see on tv, and what u have just witnessed in an actual court room is two completely different things.
