someone who has personal experience with convict fish?
ok so i got a female convict and not to long after that a male the female laid eggs and she wouldnt let him fertilize so they died because for some reason she kept chasing him off and there both about 3 in anyway how long does it take for the female to be able to have eggs again? her and the male are kinda getting along now and swimmin together but wikipedia says 3-18 days they can have eggs again is this true

It may be true, but in general it will at least take 20-25 days average to female lay their eggs again. As you said that your pair is making love with each other, try having a flat surface in the tank bottom (like a clay plate, flower pot hood, etc), so that they will be ready to spawn as quick as possible, also try having a cave like structure in your tank, because some loves to lay eggs on the flat surface, some shy and secure feeling fishes will lay inside the cave surface.
