Square both sides....
6x - 8 = x²
x² - 6x + 8
What multiplies to 8 and adds to -6? -4 and -2 do
(x - 4)(x - 2)
Final Answer:
x = 4 AND x = 2
â6x-8=x
â6 x âx - 8 = x
â6 - 8 = x - âx
