Chewing coca leaves was and continues to be chewed by the Aymaras and Quechuas of Bolivia, Peru and other Andean countries. It's more a tradition than a habit.
The plant plays a significant role in traditional Andean culture. Its leaves are used by Andean cultures for medicinal and ceremonial purposes, and consumed for their mild stimulant effects either by chewing or as an herbal tea.
obviously we should not bomb Bolivia and Peru for not listening to the UN. This applies to the rest of the world, too. Just because Iran doesnt listen to the UN doesnt mean we need to bomb them.
The US can not do whatever they want. I am a patriotic American, but I see a need to critique one's country from the outside in hopes of making it stronger.
I appreciate your sarcasm. Of course we should not bomb them for a cultural fixture of an eon or so. As WorldCop® we do too much bombing already. What if that principle were applied locally? Should you bomb the garbage man when he violates the local noise ordinance that says he shouldn't start pickup until after 7 a.m.? Should you bomb the postal carrier when he accidentally delivers your bills to your neighbor? How about just discussing it with them before getting violent?

Let's give them most favored nation status, for telling the UN to take a flying lip-lock!
Because they're used to make cocaine. I'm pretty sure you can derive a few more reasons from that.
Are you going to bomb the Netherlands too?
No. I think it is actually preferable to do the exact opposite of anything that the U.N. recommends.
