My parents are Seniors and have seen an increase in their private insurance costs and less coverage/reimbursement from medicare. Yes they do have at least two forms of health coverage.
So I would have to say NO their quality of care is not better, just more expensive.
As a sixty four year old, we don't qualify for Medicare, so we are very sparing in our use of doctors, and terrified of having to go the the hospital.
There is simply no affordable good coverage for those between 55 and 64, and many of those people fall between the cracks of the system, being vulnerable to losing their life's savings and all they worked for if there is a heart attack or other serious illness.
The whole reason Medicare came into existence was to cover those no longer working and elderly because private insurance wouldn't write for that population.
I'm not altogether sure that my quality of care would change, but my access to the system, and its affordability would improve with any kind of Medicare. Oh and I do have some kind of plan now, its three hundred a month. And lots of co pays and deductions, not to mention aggravation trying to get claims paid.
Every ones health care costs have soared, not just Medicare, but at least some of the frauds that doctors have been caught up in have ended, frauds that go into the millions of dollars.

No senior I know buys into it...or really cares for Medicare either.
