Running against my ex-bestfriend for my club's presidency?
A couple months ago, I created the pre-medecine club in my high school. My "best friend" wanted to be involved, so i appointed her my co-president. Yesterday we got into a humongous fight. She refused to work, while I have been obsessivey trying to make this club successful. She screamed and cursed at me that I'm an awful friend and a bossy b**ch. In reality, she refused to lift a finger.
Anyway, she still wants to be president. The only reason is because of her college application. I proposed an election. I cannot work with her anymore. She made my life torturous. I don't think I dislike anyone more than her. She didn't care about our friendship (we were BFFs since 3rd grade), she only cared about her resume.
When I proposed a club election, only one of us can be president, she automatically did not like the idea. Being the ACTUAL president, I arranged with the school board that I am allowed, and the election will take place in a couple weeks.
She bullies everyone and everybody despises her. I have a LOT of friends in the pre-med club. I am 99% sure I will win the election, but part of me is terrified that by some slim chane, I will lose.
Is there a SURE way i can win? nobody thinks of her as the president, just the girl who laughs at people while I conduct our club meetings.
And no, I will not be friends with her again. I realized she has abusing me for years, and only yesterday I had the courage to stand up to her.

SURE way you can win? Short of rigging the election .....NO.
but if all you say is true.........then you shoud win easily.......so what are you worried about?
Even if she gathered some support........do you honestly see her getting more than 50% of the vote?
Even if she had 49% of the vote.........you only need 51% to beat her.
Just like in real elections, name recognition is everything. Plaster the school with election posters, and if some of HERS "accidently" disappear...........well, who's to say how that happens.?
Then on election day.............your name will be the one everyone knows.....and assume you are the stronger candidate because you had the most advertising.
That, in itself, projects power that you out gun your wimpy opponent with posters by 3 to 1 , let's say.
Or 4 to 1. or 5 to 1. Just physically and visually overpower her.
Be extra friendly to everyone in the club and campaign hard to ensure your victory. Pass out goodies and ask everyone to vote for you and do not make the campaign about her make the campaign about yourself. As you gain more support she may become jealous and make a rude remark about you. This may anger the members which will make them turn to you. I am sure your victory is already assured. If the club members have seen what you have done for them they will surely vote for you. Don't worry and stay strong. If she continues to boss you around continue to stand up to her and show her that she is not the boss.
