I figured going to Planned Parenthood would be too much of a hassle if I can just talk to my doctor cause Im comfortable with her. The problem is I dont want to have to tell my parents because its really embarrassing so Im trying to protect myself, I'd rather have birth control than a baby. Im not going to live with them for long, Im going off to college, I have a job. Ive never done anything to disrespect them but I feel they smother me at points because Im the youngest and a girl. I just want to do whats best for myself and my future. How confidential would things be between my doctor and I? My parents see a different doctor. How much would the birth control cost if I have Aetna insurance? I usually have to pay a copay of forty dollars for any visit. I really dont want to tell them because they would be disappointed in me. Despite being a great student and hard worker I never amount to much in their eyes.

You are an adult in the eyes of any health care provider and they would never tell your parents anything. When my daughter was 16 and I took her to the doctor, they had to get her permission to say anything in front of me. Good for you for wanting to get on birth control! It is the upstanding thing to do! My daughters birth control is now $10 copay and she has Blue Cross Blue Shield. You can call your insurance company ahead of time and they will tell you the price of the pills they cover.
