I went and had some blood tests done the other week, and had a call back from my doctor. He thinks i may have OC (obstetric coliostasis)? Just wondering if anyone knows what will happen if this may be true as i am 30 weeks pregnant with twin boys?

Hey, i was diagnosed with oc on my first pregnancy at 36 weeks, i was admitted into hospital as my alt levels where very high and they where awaiting the bile salt results to confirm and when they came back they where sky high so i was sectioned at 37 weeks.
My symptom was a extreme itch that i had pretty much everywhere, they say it does be worse on the palms of yer hands and the soles of yer feet but i had it pretty much everywhere, unfortunately it can be fatal to baby that's why if oc is confirmed baby needs to be delivered by 37 weeks and the longer they stay in the womb the higher the risk of them being stillborn, its scary to think that an itch is the only symptom for something so lethal!
You should be ok once your doc has his suspicions at least they can monitor you and your twin boys on a very regular basis or they may admit you into hospital until they are delivered just to be safe, the pups will need to be traced several times in the day to make sure they are content and not distressed and you could need to have blood taken every week until delivery to check the bile salt levels,
Im currently 33 weeks pregnant with my second son, i i feel that it has returned as there is a 70 - 90% chance of it recurring in future pregnancies, i have only just returned form the hospital an hour ago from having more bloods and baby traced, it can be very scary but as long as your doctors are aware that you could possibly have oc you will be ok.
2 main things to worry about are, if the itch gets extremely bad , if it does you need to head straight away to the hospital as this could be a sign that things are turning bad, also try and keep a closer eye on your boys activity throughout the day because if this slows down or becomes unusual from what you know to be the norm you need to head to the hospital,,, sorry if im scaring you but oc is a very under rated yet highly dangerous condition that very few people know of, and the itch and babies movements are only signs to know that things are ok or not!!!! if you want to email me about this please do @ [email protected], id be more than happy to share experiences with you!!
