When connected, my third generation Nano briefly connects, but then ejects itself when plugged into my computer. The following text box appears:
"An iPod has been detected, but could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again."
Also, when I try to reset my iPod by holding the center and play button down, there is no result.

its not the center button to reset. you have to press and hold the center and menu button until the apple logo appears. if that doesn't work follow the instruction in the ipod support site
http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/nano3gen...
if that doesn't work then call apple
