my computer was just fitted with a new motherboard.
the original motherboard like this one had a mic input and speakerjack built into the front panel, and like the last motherboard.. neither work.
its not a necessity to have the two front ports but its kinda obnoxious.
any help would be appreciated. im 100% sure it's NOT the hardware.
Update:forgot to mention that the rear ports work fine..
as i said it's not necessary to have the front ones it's just a convenience.

check the device manager and see if you have any problems with the device drivers or make sure the correct device is enabled.
to get theie rightclick MYCOMPUTER click DEVICE MANAGER and click SOUND
if its just the front jacks that means they need to be pluged into the motherboard.
I agree with Steve, and if you see any devices with an exclamation point next to them, download the Unknown Device Identifier, and research the drivers UKD suggests. (http://www.halfdone.org/ukd/)
