There is actually a problem in the graphics world. The glossy makes a very bright - to bright - screen. It is not a good color match with printed output. You will need to profile and/ or change it to your liking. If you have a large dark background with no reflection problems then get glossy. If screen to print is important then go matte.
I myself would have gone glossy. I went matte because I just get all worked up about reflections on the screen. So my business has matte screens for all the graphic designers.
If you are going to use your computer outdoors in the sun get the regular screen. If you are going to watch movies indoors on the computer go with the glossy screen because the picture is smoother and more high quality (high resolution). The only difference between the screens is that the glossy has glass in front of it...
