You're correct about conservatives wanting to control our bodies for the most part, but liberals want people to be aware of the facts, not necessarily controlling people's minds. Stephen Colbert even said himself once that reality has a liberal slant. Liberals advocate equality for gays, women, and minorities, and I see nothing wrong with that since we are all equal in the eyes of God. Also unlike many conservatives, liberals want the poor and middle class to be taxed at a fairer rate compared to the rich, and they want money to have a less towering influence in politics. I'm sure you've heard of how Warren Buffett pays a less tax rate than his secretary, right? And how the Koch Brothers are a couple of a handful of millionaires dumping money behind Super Pacs.
In a nutshell, I think this comparison between liberals and conservatives is simply wrong and misguided. It should be obvious which side has been out to destroy democracy, and which one is on the side of the average Joe.
