I have an LG Banter with Telus (which I just recently switched from prepaid - which is how I bought the phone - to a monthly plan). My phone screen doesn't work. When I turn on my phone, all I get is a very dark bluish-black background. I can still call people (if I rememmber their number off the top of my head), and get voicemails, but texting and anything else is out completely. Is there a way to fix this? Or do I need a new pohone? Or just a new battery? Also, where can I buy an LG Banter that is not on a contract so I can just switch the physical device and nothing regarding my plan or original phone number?

It seems that the phone has a hardware issue. You can check craigslist.org in your local area for businesses who fix phones. Changing battery won't help here.
If you need to buy a replacement phone at a low price, I would recommend checking ebay.com, amazon.com and www.cheap-phones.com.

What could certainly take place is that that they had provide you a condominium cellular telephone and characteristic yours repaired and sent returned to you.
